Yes, I know…I have slacked on blogging lately. It is funny because most people think we are going to blog every shoot and wonder when their pics will be on. I wish this was the case, because we really don’t blog most of what we shoot. Sometimes, I just get super excited and want to blog, but most of the time we are too busy shooting and preparing the portraits.
So, with great apologies, here I am! This bridal shoot was gorgeous to say the least. Marc and Kelly headed out to do the beginning temple shoot, but did anyone remember that the temple grounds aren’t open on Mondays? HELLO! So, we just did them around the grounds. I came in later (I hurt my back running a 5K–a story about that later). My favorite shot of the whole night just happened to be the ONE that I shot! Yep, you got it-I SHOT THEM!

Funny thing…
Every year, I remember the years when Marc and I would load up our old van, take pictures of families and show them their photos on the 13″ tv that we had been given for our wedding. It makes me realize how far we have come–a showroom, Gardner Village, and a true understanding of what photography is! Fall was really a time and place that Marc and I spent learning how to take pictures. We learned about the sun on the leaves, the way to light families so that the color of the leaves wouldn’t bounce back onto their faces, and how to recommend clothing to fit the mood. It took years of mastering this concept.
So, each year I celebrate fall as a milestone. I wonder sometimes, how will we get any better? The families were so amazing last year, what will it hold this year? And, yes, each fall I am amazed at how wonderful everything goes.

There is nothing more fun than to meet other artists, whether they are musicians or designers. We all have that same creative spark within us. The band just finished up with eight months in the recording studio and are now ready for their “image.” It was fun to help them decide what they were going to wear and what the mood of the shot would be. After getting ready to leave, I really was impressed with these guys trying to make the world a better place. You guys will go far–congrats and best of luck!
