Why the birdie

As a mother of three girls, springtime has been a wonderful time of year in our backyard with old tree branches becoming makeshift homes for the birds of the seasons and their nests.  As we watch the wind blow, the mother birds hold firm to their homes as the tree branches sway.  It is our prayer that the tree can withstand the wind so that it can keep the safe haven the mother has created.   In no time at all, the nest is full of sweet little chirps and eventually flying lessons begin with the little ones.

This creation is played over each year for our family. It is during this moment that I am able to teach my own children that a strong rooted home will protect them from the storms of the world.  As we watch the little birds leave the nest, I assure my own to begin to fly as I stand watch on the branch.  As I instigate their departure, I realize they may leave me, but my heart is always with them.
Family portraits reflect a home with roots strong enough to withstand the winds our children face–hence the tree of Highlite stands firm.  It is the mothers, fathers, grandparents and others that encourage our children to fly–for this the bird is perched on the tree.  It is the heart that aches for their safe return and the heart of them that brings them back…and for this, Highlite Photography places a heart in the center.

Why does the Highlite logo contain a bird, a heart and a tree?
